Throne Of Glass// Part One

As you can see, I'll be tabbing each main character - specifically looking for things that are important to their progression, along with things I like or want to make reference to. 

It also covers any significant descriptions or history of the character. 

I'll be also looking at any plot foreshadowing that is hinted at or mentioned.

Quotes will be ones that are notable, ones I love or ones that speak to me

World/ History - this will be used for any major descriptions of the Throne Of Glass world. Any mentions of major history, descriptions of places etc that I feel are important etc

Other/ Important - This is used for anything that I think is important but doesnt fall into any other particular category - as example of this would be Nehemia - I'm not tracking her specifically but if there's anything important I want to make a note of it will be covered with this.

Valg / Wyrd - this covers any mentions or descriptions of Wyrd/Wyrdmarks/Wyrdgates along with any mentions of Valg or Valg-like behaviour etc. 

I also have two additional colours in the background of the photo that arent on the bookmark but they will also be tracked... 

Pink is for LUNATHION/CRESCENT CITY - this will be for any similarities, crossovers or significant theories that may link to the Crescent City World.

Lavender Purple is for PRYTHIAN/ ACOTAR- again this will be used if I feel there are any links, similarities to that world.

1) "His red cloak fell gracefully" Now, I know the house crest colours of Havilliard are Red with a golden Wyvern.... however... I feel like this is a hige foreshadow to one of the best characters to be introduced... MANON BLACKBEAK with her infamous red cloak! This of course I mention because they are endgame so I loved this subtle yet not so subtle nod to this - unless that's just me reading into things that are clearly just happenstance with no relation. haha! 

2) We are first introduced to Celaena and immediately her attitude is present which I love. I can completely see how some readers find her immature (like of course she is she's 17) but this interaction is interesting to me because it's not just immature, its cocky. It's her way of staying strong in a place ( in fact a world ) meant to break her. She's spent a year in a slave camp and this is her first introduction in the book. 

The particular quote I'm referring to is Page 2, "His head shifted in her firection, and Celaena flashed him a grin." This is not the only time she does this early on and I just love how she's portrayed. I feel like knowing what she's been through and what she's about to go through she is allowed this arrogant yet childish grin. yaknow?? like throw her a bone and while you're at it throw your arms around her and give her a big hug from me. thanks. 

3) Chaol is introduced like a no nonsense character so it's really difficult to love him straight off the bat as he doesnt give much away so over the course of the book it is nice to see him interact more, especially with Celaena as they do most definitely have chemistry but early on he is just a dick.

4) For two characters I absolutely love, this time round I am noticing my opinons of them differ to how I know I'll feel soon if that makes sense. Like, early on they are rather boring, annoying and Dorian comes off as a spoilt brat and chaol is just a stiff. haha... oops. 

1) Of course I had to have a go at drawing the Wyrdmarks from the descriptions in the book... it was a lot of fun and adds an immersive element. They're probably wrong but I had fun. 

2) I hightlighted this quote as I just enjoyed it. "Courage of the heart is very rare" - "Let it guide you" 

3) Chaol once again just THERE haha, anywhere Celaena goes or is he just pops up. Comes off rather creepy and stalker-ish. Oh actually a thought as I type this... IS THIS DONE ON PURPOSE TO MAKE YOU QUESTION HIM AS THERE IS A KILLER IN THE CASTLE .... OMG how did I not pick up on that haha. I just instantly went to STRANGER DANGER, candy in a white van kind of situation. loooooool./

This particular note I made is funny because I wrote down also on page 93 that he seems to be hanging around an awful lot.. haha. 

4) Bae of course is referring to Lysandra. She isnt mentioned but they're specifically talking about how Arobynn trained Celaena but charged her and how a Courtasen is treat the same. I just enjoyed that little analogy and how it will link in to BAE coming in because let's face it... she deserved a spin off book or series  gasp there I said it. hehe.

I spotted a lil subtle possible nod or connection to ACOTAR or atleast Prythian as I can't remember specifically what book the quote comes from ... I think its ACOMAF... " To the stars who listen and the dreams that are answered" 

so here it is... 

Whether this is a confirmed connection between the two or not, I just loved this reference. Since this is SJM ealiest work maybe she just really liked the saying and wanted to reuse it as I know she likes to do that. So rather than it being confirmed its just a subtle nod?? I found this neat and just cute.
